Working time & rest

The limits that actually block

Some rules are non-negotiable. Leavo enforces working-time ceilings, weekly maximum, daily maximum and maximum daily span, and rest minimums of 11 hours between days and 35 hours across the week.

These are the rules that can stop a save in enforce mode. Breaks and overtime quotas are evaluated too, but as warnings rather than blocks, so guidance never grinds work to a halt over a soft limit.

The problem

Why hours and rest slip

Daily caps creep up

A long shift here and a covered gap there quietly push someone past the daily or weekly ceiling.

Rest gets squeezed

A late finish followed by an early start can drop below the required gap without anyone noticing.

Spans stretch too far

A split day with a long break can run from morning to night and blow past the maximum daily span.

How it works

From limit to verdict

Leavo measures each day and week against the agreement's hard limits and acts accordingly.

01

Read the limits

Leavo takes the weekly and daily ceilings, daily span and rest minimums from your agreement.

02

Measure the schedule

Planned hours and worked hours are totalled per day and per week and the gaps between days are checked.

03

Compare and rule

Each limit gets a verdict, within or breach, with day-level rules pointing at the exact day.

04

Warn or block

In advisory the breach is flagged; in enforce a breached hard limit blocks the save.

Capabilities

The hard limits Leavo enforces

Weekly maximum

Total weekly working time is checked against the agreement's ceiling.

Daily maximum

Each day's worked or planned hours are compared to the daily limit.

Maximum daily span

The stretch from first start to last end is held within the allowed span.

11-hour daily rest

The gap between one day's end and the next day's start must meet the rest minimum.

35-hour weekly rest

A continuous weekly rest period is checked against the 35-hour minimum.

Breaks & overtime as warnings

Breaks and overtime quotas are evaluated as warnings, not as blocks.

Frequently asked questions

Which rules can block a save?

Working-time ceilings, weekly maximum, daily maximum and maximum daily span, and rest minimums of 11 hours daily and 35 hours weekly. Breaks and overtime quotas are evaluated as warnings, not blocks.

Are wage floors and night-work limits enforced?

Not yet. Leavo enforces working-time and rest rules only. Wage floors and night-work limits are displayed and tracked but not enforced, enforcement for them is on the roadmap.

How are day-level breaches attributed?

Day-level rules like daily hours, daily rest and daily span attribute the breach to the exact offending day, so it's clear where to fix the schedule.

Do worked hours get checked too, or only the plan?

Both. The same limits apply to planned shifts and to worked timesheet hours, so a compliant plan that drifts in reality is still caught.
